Ascension Parish was founded in 1907 in historic Oak Park, Illinois. The present church was built in 1929 in the Romanesque style of architecture. Famous for its dome, the 32-foot diameter dome rises 100-feet and is crowned by a 15-foot, solid bronze statue of the Ascension of our Lord.
