Ascension Women's Cooperative

The AWC Board 2009
Ladies Night Out on May 7 was a wonderful celebration of the spirit of Ascension women. Scroll down to the top of the photo gallery for many more photos.
The mission of the Ascension Women’s Cooperative (“AWC”) is to foster relationships among all women in the parish, to bring various ministries together, to bridge relationships across generations, to gather school and religious education families together, and to address the needs of the parish, our community and the world at large. Through these endeavors the women of Ascension hope to promote spiritual growth and strengthen our Catholic faith.
The AWC organizes a number of events throughout the year to provide social and spiritual opportunities and to raise funds to support Ascension’s ministries and other worthy causes. We also sponsor the Angel Cooks Ministry to provide meals for parishioners in times of need. We sincerely hope to increase participation from all women of the parish. If you would like more information or are interested in volunteering, please contact a member of the AWC Board listed below.
The AWC annual calendar includes the following events:
Our Fall Festival features pie baking and chili making competitions, plenty of food, crafts for the kids, a DJ and a raffle. Watch for the date for our 2009 festival!
The AWC joins with the Women’s Spirituality Group to provide Women’s Mornings of Reflection several times during the year. Take a morning for yourself to pray, sing, reflect with others in our community and listen to the inspirational words of other women. Watch the Dome for more details.
The annual Cookie Walk and Craft Fair is an early December event that goes way back. A great crowd, great craft vendors, lots of gorgeous cookies, wonderful spirit...all make for a very special kick-off to the holiday season! Don't miss the cookie walk!
Bunco is the newest addition to the AWC lineup of events. If you've never played Bunco (or if you have!) you are in for a treat. Bunco is a wonderful way to meet new friends. Bunco nights are scheduled two or three times a year. Watch the website, the Dome and the parish e-letter for the dates for 2009-10.
Ladies' Night Out wraps up the AWC annual year. Enjoy an elegant evening with friends, always an outstanding dinner, and the chance to recognize the spirit of one particular woman, chosen each year by the AWC Board.
